We process the personal data for the following purpose:
To be able to assist shipping company when arranging repatriation of an injured or deceased seafarer.
The legal basis for our processing of personal data is based on:
Order no. 1331 of 5 December 2006 on the Special Health Insurance Scheme for seafarers etc.
We process following categories of personal data:
Civil registration number
Race or ethnicity
Labor union affiliation
Health information
We transfer or assign personal data to the following receivers:
The necessary information is forwarded to SOS International. SOS International is responsible for the arrangement of the repatriation.
No information is transferred to third countries.
The shipping company that wants assistance with repatriation gathers the personal data.
The Danish Maritime Authority encourages sending the personal data via e-Boks or any other secure solution.
We store the personal data for 5 years.
If personal data about you has been handed over, you have, at any time, the right to withdraw your consent. You can do this by contacting us.
If you choose to withdraw your consent, it does not affect the legality of our processing of your personal data based on your former given consent and up to the time of withdrawal. Therefore, if you withdraw your consent, this will only become effective from this time.
You have, through the General Data Protection Regulation, multiple rights regarding our processing of data about you. If you would like to make use of your rights, you have to contact the Danish Maritime Authority.
Right to see data (Right of access)
You have the right to gain access to the data about you that we process, and a number of additionally data.
Right to rectification (correction)
You have the right to rectify incorrect data about yourself.
Right to erasure
In special cases, you have the right to get data about you erased before the time when our normal general erasure happens.
Right to restriction of processing
In certain cases, you have the right to get the processing of your data restricted. If you have the right to get the processing restricted, we may in the future only process the data – except from storage – with your consent, or in order to determine, enforce or defend a legal claim, or to protect a person or important public interest.
Right to objection
In some cases, you have the right to object against our processing of your personal data.
Right to transmit data (dataportability)
In some cases, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format, and get these data transferred from one controller to another, without hindrance.
