The rules are found in the order on the design etc. of equipment and protective systems for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere and the order on explosive material etc. for ATEX.

The products are also covered by EU Direction 2014/34 of 26 February 2014 on equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (the ATEX Directive).

Finally, ATEX products are also covered by the Product Act, which does not contain product requirements but the possibilities for control and sanctions.
