Amusement park road trains
Amusement park road trains shall be approved according to a number of requirements. The certificate shall state which trailers the train is approved for towing.
The technical requirements which shall be met for the approval of the train by an Inspection company are amongst others:
The towing vehicle must comply with the provisions concerning the design and equipment of a registered tractor;
the towing vehicle must be fitted with side mirrors on the right and left side,
the towing vehicle must be fitted with a fire extinguisher located near the driver's seat;
mandatory audible warning device can be supplemented with manually operated bell,
the maximum design speed of the vehicle must be limited to 10 km per hour;
trailers must comply with the provisions on the layout and equipment of trailers for tractors subject to registration;
the train may consist of a towing vehicle and a maximum of 2 trailers. The total length of the vehicle train must not exceed 18.75 m. For vehicle lengths longer than 14 m, all trailer axles must be forcibly steered. The brakes on trailers must act automatically when the braking of the towing vehicle is applied,
the train must be constructed in such a way that pedestrians and other road users are not exposed to unnecessary danger (collision / squeezing). If deemed necessary, there must be tensioned chains or the like between the individual vehicles in the vehicle to mitigate this danger. Protruding parts such as step boards and the like must not be present,
the driver must be able to see the lorry by means of mirrors, both while driving and in connection with the boarding and alighting of passengers,
the engine must be equipped with pollution control equipment corresponding to passenger car M1 of the same year as the first commissioning of the amusement park train,
canopies, billboards, etc. must be securely fastened and positioned in such a way that the driver's overview of the train is not obstructed,
the number of passengers is determined by the sighting company. Each passenger must have a seat with a width of at least 425 mm. When calculating the permitted number of seats, a weight of 75 kg per passenger. Permissible total weight and axle load (manufacturer's information) must not be exceeded, and
standing places can not be approved, just as loose chairs and benches must not be present.
