The rules for cableway installations can be found in EU Regulation 2016/424. It applies to new cableway installations and cableway installations that are modified, but not cableway installations that were put into use before 1 January 1986 and are still in use without significant changes.
There are supplementary Danish requirements in Executive Order 211 from 14 March 2018.
Here, among other things, there are requirements that operating instructions and safety information must be in Danish and that the Danish Working Environment Authority (from 1 December 2018 the Danish Safety Technology Authority) must grant a commissioning permit for new cableways.
Cableway installations are also covered by the Act on Products and Market Surveillance, which does not provide additional product requirements, but primarily sets the framework for control and sanctions in market surveillance.
