File a complaint regarding health and safety at work

If the company has established a health and safety organisation, it is always a good idea to discuss health and safety issues with this organisation.

Requirements for health and safety cooperation

When you complete the form or call, you will be asked to provide the following:

• The name, address and division of the company

• What are the health and safety issues?

• How many people are affected by the issue?

• When did the issue arise and how long is it expected to continue?

• Does the company have a health and safety organisation and have they been involved?

• Your name and telephone number (treated confidentially), if we need more information.

You can attach documentation - e.g., photos or other documents. The Danish Working Environment Authority will only use the documentation to prioritise any possible inspection. It will not be included as part of the Danish Working Environment Authority’s documentation of a violation of the Danish Working Environment Act.

Complaints to the Danish Working Environment Authority regarding health and safety will always be treated confidentially.

The Danish Working Environment Authority may not disclose that they have received a complaint or provide information on the nature of the complaint. This also applies if the Danish Working Environment Authority inspects the company mentioned in the complaint.

You have the right to remain anonymous when you file a complaint with the Danish Working Environment Authority, and you will always be treated anonymously in connection with any inspection visits and further processing.

When will you receive a reply?

A complaint regarding poor health and safety conditions will not automatically result in an inspection visit. This will be decided on the basis of a specific assessment of each individual complaint. As a general rule however, the Danish Working Environment Authority will always carry out an inspection if we assess that there is an immediate danger.

You will not be informed of whether your complaint will result in an inspection visit.
