Taxidermist (temporary provision and establishment)

You will receive a response from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency within eight weeks. Approval is dependent on written confirmation from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, so you cannot start this work even if it takes more than eight weeks for you to receive a response.

In case of rejection

If the Danish Environmental Protection Agency decides to reject your application for approval, the Agency will send you a reasoned notification. Rejections cannot be appealed.

The company may only be approved as a conservation business if the daily work is managed by someone who:

1. has obtained an attestation of professional competence from the Danish Zoological Conservation Officers’ Association, www.dzk.dk, or attestation of equivalent training abroad; or

2. has completed training as a zoological conservation officer at

• Natural History Museum in Århus: www.naturhistoriskmuseum.dk,

• Zoological Museum in Copenhagen: www.zoologi.snm.ku.dk,

• Danish Museum of Hunting and Forestry: www.jagtskov.dk,

• Svendborg Zoological Museum: www.naturama.dk

or a corresponding internationally recognised institution abroad.

There is not a publicly available register of approved conservation officers. Specific information will be handed over provided that this is possible according to the rules in the Danish Access to Public Administration Files Act. Contact the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
