To register a merchant ship with a foreign owner in a Danish ship register, there is a requirement of economic activity in Denmark relating to the ship. This is called the activity requirement.

All Danish ships of 300 gross tonnage or more must have a certificate on board to document, that there is a Insurance for maritime claims. Ships covered by the certificate requirements cannot sail without having the certificate on board.

If you want to work on a permanent basis in Denmark as Ship's Cook you need to apply to the competent authority for authorization or similar official recognition.
