Lawyers who have been appointed as lawyers in another EU Member State, an EEA country or in Switzerland can establish themselves in Denmark in order to permanently pursue the profession of lawyer in Denmark under their home-country professional title

You will need this:

A lawyer who wishes to establish himself in Denmark in order to pursue the profession of lawyer under his home-country professional title must register with the Danish Bar and Law Society. Apply by post, fax or e-mail. See contact details below.

  • A certificate verifying the applicant’s registration as a lawyer with their home country’s competent authority must be attached for use in the registration. The certificate must have been issued no later than three months before submission.
  • The applicant must also state whether they are a member of a joint practice in their home country and also provide information on this practice.
  • Documentation for a degree corresponding to the Danish master’s degree in law must also be attached.
